There are many religions in all over the world like Christians, Hindus, Buddhists, Sikhs, Parsees and Islam. People of every religion have their own preaching, worship places and holy books.

Islam

 is the last religion from Allah. Its followers are called Muslims. Muslims believe on one God called Allah. Hazrat Muhammad was the last prophet of Allah. Muslims holy book is called Quran. Their worship place is called Mosque.

Christians 

are the followers of Jesus Christ (hazrat Isa). Jesus gave the message of God to the people of his time. The Quran also mentions the prophet Jesus and his mother Mary (hazrat Maryam). Christians holy book is known as Bible. They worship in churches.

Hinduism

 is one of the oldest religions found in the world. Hindus believe that there is one Supreme God, but they can worship their god in different forms. So they have many gods and goddesses. Hinduism has many branches. Their holy books are the four Vedas, the Puranas, the Upanishads and the Bhagavad Gita. Their worship temples are known as Maunders.

Sikhs

 are the followers of a saint called Guru Nanak. Their holy book is called Guru Granth Sahib which contains the teachings of the gurus. They worship or pray in a temple called a gurdwara. Sikhs holiest temple is the Golden Temple in Amritsar, India.

Buddhism

Gautama Buddha is the founder of Buddhism. He was the prince of India about two thousand and five hundred years ago. Buddhists also worship in temples.

Parsees

 are the followers of their prophet Zoroaster. This religion began in Persia (Iran) in the sixth century BCF. Their holy book is the Avesta. They worship in their fire temples.
