Present Continuous Tense

The present continuous tense is created from the present tense of the verb “be” and the present participle “ing” form of a verb. Present continuous tense use to talk regarding the present, i.e for somewhat that is occurring at the instant of dialogue.

Present Continuous Simple Sentence

This tense tells us about the things that are happening at the moment

 اردو پہچان

اسے اردو میں 

فعل حال جاری کہتے ہیں

یہ tense  ایسے کاموں کے لیے استعمال ہوتا ہے جو موجودہ  زمانے میں جاری پایا جاۓ

اردو فقرے کے آخر میں رہا ہے ، رہی ہے ، رہا ہوں وعیرو  آتا ہے .مثلآ

وہ آ رہی ہے

تم کھا رہے ہو

ہم جا رہے ہیں

Present continuous tense simple sentences

Formation of simple sentences

  

The sentence starts with the subject and adds “am” with subject “I”.

“Am” is only used with the subject “I”.

We use “is” with the subject he, she,it and singular nouns.

We use “are” with the subject you, they and plural nouns.

After helping verb (is, are) we add ing with 1st form of the verb (go+ing=going )

Then we use object (if any)

اردو فقرے سے انگریزی بنانے کے لیے :

Subject  + Helping verb  + Verb 1st form+ing  + object.

She    +   is       + drink+ing               + milk.

 ثناء جھولا جھول رہی ہے

Sana is swinging a swing.

بچے کرکٹ کھیل رہے ہیں

Children are playing cricket.

وہ کہانی لکھ رہا ہے

He is writing a story.

تم گاڑی چلا رہے ہو

You are driving a car.

منفی فقرے

منفی فقرے بنانے کے لیے

                             not  کے بعد Helping verb (is,are, am) 

لگا کر فعل کی پہلی فارم کے ساتھ ing کا اضافہ کرتے ہیں.

Present continuous tense negative sentences

Formation of Negative sentences

To make negative sentences we use not after helping verb (is, are,am)

Subject  + Helping verb + not  + Verb+ing + Object.

They      + are           + not + play +ing + hockey. 

For example:

بچے نہا نہیں رہے ہیں

Children are not taking a bath.

میں آم نہیں کھا رہا ہوں

I am not eating mango.

وہ اخبار نہیں پڑھ رہی ہے

She is not reading a newspaper.

Present continuous tense interrogative sentences

Formation of interrogative sentences

To make interrogative sentences we use “is, are,am” in the beginning of the sentence..

We use question marks (?) at the end of the sentences.

Helping verb  + subject + verb+ing  + object ?

 Are               + you + go+ ing to + school ?

سوالیہ فقرات

سوالیہ فقرے کی انگریزی بنانے کے لیے  

Helping verb (is, are, am)

کو فقرے کے شروع میں لگاتے ہیں پھر 

                               لکھتےہیں      Subject (I, we,you, they, he,she,it )

اس کے بعد فعل کی پہلی فارم کے ساتھ ing کا اضافہ کرکے لکھتے ہیں اگر فقرے میں سوالیہ الفاظ موجود ہوں تو انہیں  is ,are, am سے بھی پہلے لگاتے ہیں. مثلا  

What, why,when, where or whom.

کیا اریحه مالٹا  کھا رہی ہے؟

Is Arieha eating an orange?

اسامہ کہاں جا  رہا ہے؟

Where is Usama going?

کیا میں چاول پکا رہی ہوں؟

Am I cooking rice?
